Nordic Masterclass for Conductors is an initiative aiming to create possibilities for young conductors to develop through "practicing their instrument" under top level guidance by prof. Jorma Panula, assistant teacher Maria Badstue and the South Denmark Philharmonic.
The focus is furthermore to emphasize the importance of "podium time" for young conductors or in the words of professor Jorma Panula: "You cannot learn to conduct without an orchestra".
Nordic Masterclass for Conductors was founded in 2012 on the initiative of Maria Badstue in cooperation with Jorma Panula and the South Denmark Philharmonic. The 4th Nordic Masterclass for Conductors took place in January 2017.
